BYP Honda Civic now the QUICKEST FWD Honda @ Eastern Creek! 1:38.0 + VIDEO!!

thought i share a great achievement from the car and team today. Well we've done it today! We have now claim the quickest FWD Honda Civic @ Eastern Creek with a new personal best of 1:38.0

As usual, it was a last minute rush to get the car ready due to work commitments. Another standard K24 bottom end was replace due to a suspected bottom end bearing wear from the previous motor. The car was strapped on the dyno last night to get its check over on the dyno. We took the opportunity to try out the race E85 fuel again due to inconclusive test result from the last motor. The car made a healthy 238kw with normal pump E85. Out goes the pump e85 and in goes the race e85. Without touching the tune, its first pull on race e85 was 252kw. With a slight tweak of the tune, we ended up with 270kw (~370hp) at the front wheels. We are simply amaze of how much power the car is now making. Its basically a standard bottom end with a type R head with a set of stage 2 cams + the supercharger. Gotta love these OEM Honda Motor's

We took the opportunity to purchase a set of slicks as we were due for some new tyres. The last set of Yokohama Advan 050's didn't last very long, with its life spam of only 10 -12 laps around Eastern Creek. For the same amount price, we purchase Dunlop Slicks, which will provide more grip, more life, last longer & better sizing.

Car was AMAZING on the track today. Performed flawlessly and its lap time surely reflects its performance. With new unfound power, the car was a bit of a handful but netherless it was quick. To put in perspective, our top speed at Superlap was 233kph at the end of the straight, we are now hitting 240kph at the start/finish line which is 250m before the straight finish. Our gearing is the limiting factor for our top speed, so we'll be thinking how we could possibly use all the straight without compromising the rest of the track speed.

Not only did we set of new benchmark, we were the fastest car today. (Not sure if radical is classed as cars? LOL) Natsoft link - http://www.natsoft.com.au/cgi-bin/re...8/2010.EAST.S1

As you can see, it was a quality field with some very quick GTR's, WRX, clubmans and etc. This was just icing on the cake for us. New pb, quickest car for the day, and now quickest FWD Honda. Couldn't get any better!

And no, this 1:38 lap wasn't a one lap wonder. Throughout the day, the car consistently lap in the 1:38's range. Our best theoretical lap would been in the mid 1:36's range. We'll be out there in the near future to try our luck again. We are hoping for 1:36's next time out

Video - Best lap of the day (1:38) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crOQ9NhW9MA
